Almandi Restaurant is a solid choice for anyone in Buffalo looking to explore authentic Yemeni and broader Middle Eastern halal cuisine in a straightforward, no-frills setting. Located on Broadway, this full-service spot caters especially well to meat lovers and those seeking hearty, spice-forward dishes that stay true to traditional flavors.

The dining experience here centers on generous portions and a casual atmosphere where families and groups can comfortably settle in. The interior offers ample seating, making it practical for lunchtime visits or relaxed dinners without the bustle of a trendy hotspot. The staff tends to be attentive and knowledgeable, ready to help navigate the menu or suggest popular pairings.

The menu stands out with dishes like Lamb Haneeth, where the meat is tender enough to fall off the bone, and the Fahsah stew, rich and layered with spices. You’ll also find other regional specialties like Chicken Biryani, Lamb Mandi, and grilled options such as Fish and Lamb Chops. A few lighter bites like samosas and hummus balance the heavier fare, and some locals make a point to order the red chutney alongside their mandi for an extra zing of flavor.

It’s a spot that thrives on local regulars who appreciate its blend of affordability and authenticity. Lunchtime tends to draw in those looking for a substantial meal that’s rich in Middle Eastern spices and textures without the wait. The casual vibe means it’s equally well suited for solo diners, couples, or families who want straightforward, robust food without pretense.

Overall, Almandi feels like a practical, dependable destination if you want to experience Yemeni flavors in Buffalo with a focus on meat dishes that highlight slow-cooked tenderness and a variety of spiced accompaniments. If you’re curious about exploring beyond typical Mediterranean fare, this restaurant offers a window into a specific regional cuisine that’s hearty and flavorful, set in an unassuming neighborhood spot.

First time trying yemeni food and I was not disappointed. I got the lamb haneeth and the fahsah. The lamb fell right off the bone and was full of flavor while the fahsah had to be one of the best things I've eaten anywhere. I would return for sure if I come back to Buffalo

Had the half chicken, and lamb and both were very good. The food didn’t take long at all to get to our table and everything was seasoned well. The guy at the front was helpful when we needed things and there plenty of tables and seating for people and families. The red chutney is a must though if you wanna really enjoy your Mandi.
